🔴  NEW DIRECTION   Ed. No. 22 / ON HAPPINESS

What motivates a statement like that?

Open your eyes, ears …see and hear for yourself that the machinations of Capitalism are no longer working. The whole system has reached its use by date. Time for a new direction.

Even those who are the cheerleaders of Capitalism know deep down that it isn’t lighting the fire of passion in most of us anymore that is if they’re truthful with themselves.

It’s acknowledged that if you believe a fantasy and someone pops your bubble it hurts.

Something real to you has just been confronted. An element in your profound sense of belief of who you are has been disturbed.

Why wouldn’t it hurt. Sure, you can hold onto your belief if you want to.

But I mean more stuff = happiness is a complete furphy.

Eat as much as you like, gather together as much stuff as you want but don’t expect all of the consumerist indulgence to give you happiness. You might give yourself indigestion but that’s nowhere near happiness. It’s been said before happiness is not an attribute of matter.

And there’s nothing wrong with loving someone well and good but don’t expect it to last forever and ever like in the fairly tales. Haven’t we seen enough examples of that? More recently it is noted that even *quadruple threat Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness have decided to walk their own paths. They are two very sensible, kind, loving, intelligent and talented people. But even that didn’t last.

You want fame, power and money. Go for it. Donald Trump’s got oodles of those things but don’t try to tell me he’s happy. He looks consistently to be a very unhappy man to me. That’s why I’d never vote for him. If he can’t make himself happy what the hell can he do for America?

Howard Hughes was a great entrepreneur and achieved a lot in his life. But take a look at that excellent Martin Scorsese biographical film THE AVIATOR on the life of the man. Hughes devolved into a person with terribly sad mental issues. So is the answer in achievement?

NOT REALLY.

So you can believe the great lie about happiness in stuff, wealth, fame, power, achievement and love in another person’s eyes. But when you feel the love/happiness/peace or whatever word you want to put on it… where do you feel it?

Another person or something may spark the feeling but the feeling is within inside of you.

Doesn’t that trigger a curiosity within you to ask questions? It does for me.

You want to be your favourite superhero? Put your energy to some good use and instead of trying to leap buildings in a single bound focus the effort inside to discover yourself.

That involves the courage to dig.

In summary I’d like to get rid of 90% of the stuff I’ve accumulated inside and outside of me. All it is doing is cluttering up my life. It’s actually in the way of my moving forward with my life. And why would I want to take on someone else’s baggage? My life’s already cluttered with too much self made detritus let alone adding someone else’s rubbish to my heap.

I’m certainly not anti-capitalist. But I am anti-imbalance and not into living a fantasy.

Madonna gyrated to the spin that we live in a material world. No doubt about it.

But we need to know and enjoy our own self as priority number one.

Put the material world in its true perspective and balance.

Feel the good inside. IT IS YOO.

YOO are more than everything previously mentioned here. - Neville

PS And when looking inside don’t suppose that a cultivated intellect, even though a wonderful gift, will get you into heaven.

You can’t think yourself into a good time unless it is a fantasy!

Dig deeper.
