Shouldn’t that read ‘attitude’ rather than ‘altitude’? The world is being hijacked by cowboys. We all need to be re-educated in how to do things properly. Oh! Too soon?

We're talking standards here (or lack thereof).
A few blogs back I said I didn't want to launch into an emotional rave.
I've reconsidered.
Sometimes it is good to have an out and out spray fest.
It does achieve something by bringing things out into the open.
Recently I had a medical appointment and was somewhat surprised to receive at least five reminders to attend by either SMS or email. Having to oversee multiple health and administrative matter appointments for both my Mother and myself it is starting to become at the least annoying and too distracting to get all of these reminders. Are people so preoccupied with their own busyness that they are forgetting appointments?
And then I had an appointment with a firm who sends me multiple reminders to "book a 30 minute meeting" when I had already booked a meeting???
And then I tried to purchase a streamed movie online only to find that the movie identified on the site then becomes another movie when I go to pay for it.
And then a person finds themselves daily facing an onslaught of SPAM, phishing or straight out scam calls either by phone, email or SMS by low-life behaviours trying to suck from a person whatever you've got.
Some Telco's too have become nothing more than the Borg - 'sales machines', again to get out of you whatever they can. There's no humanity in their business practise.
And then I chose to leave Facebook and Instagram. Why do we need 'blather' in our lives?
The information technology revolution is out of whack and sending us whacky. "Yippie ki-yay Cowboys" are running the show. We let them do that and they're havin' a great ole' time hog tying us in knots. Revolution is the right word. It's not an evolution. It is totally disruptive. And our crazy mad addiction to 'connect' on the internet has become but one disruptor in our lives.
When did we decide to make things as complicated as possible? ... Complexity can be interesting but in excess it only hurts ourselves ultimately.
And we think we're clever?
Wherever we care to look today we are facing distraction from the main game*.
And then would you believe that when I was thinking about all of this I overshot my intended walking destination of Museum Railway Station by a block heading instead towards Town Hall Station.
This is the result of allowing too much of that aptly named 'blather' into our lives.
An example of where all of this distraction can lead can be given with the helicopter that was(?) flying too high in Washington. Is it a case of someone at the levers who was possibly distracted by the noise inside and outside of their head or perhaps societal/organisational systems that are no longer working as they should?
Either way there's human beings doings behind the tragedy of it all.
And all too often we'll find any excuse to deflect blame.
It seems we have a lot of trouble cleaning our own mirror so we can see clearly.
More so than ever we need to find clarity in our lives.
But the noise just seems to be getting louder!
Who really has something to say and is anyone listening anyway?
*So what is the main game?...

“One more thing…”
Apple while not perfect have set a benchmark
for certain standards in our world.
They would make an ideal Key Sponsor to a Sydney World Expo.
To Apple's Founder Steve Jobs credit he made a life long effort
to clarify the complex and make it more easily understood.
We need to champion more leaders with Jobs outlook.
NEXT TIME
SYDNEY WORLD EXPO
The Spirit of Bennelong Project Team
paving the way for twin trusts. A"Youth Creative Trust"
and a "First Nations Youth Creative Trust". . .
and how this will be funded.
