⚪️🔴🟠🟡🟢🔵🟣⚫️ NEW DIRECTION Ed. No. 78 - POLITICAL MACHINERY VS CLARITY
WEEK ONE AUSTRALIA'S FEDERAL ELECTION CAMPAIGN
This morning I received a flyer from the Liberal Party presenting a scare campaign against the Federal Teal Member for my Electorate. Also into the first week of campaigning for our upcoming elections a Labor Party television campaign went straight for the jugular of the Liberal Party and its Leader. Ho hum.
Isn’t the way things are being done getting really irksome? Leadership? Nope.
Clearly scare campaigns must work otherwise politicians wouldn’t continue to use this practise to try to get your vote. What does that say about us?
Lazy might be one descriptive. Ignorant might be another. Care-less to boot.
The bottom line is when are we going to take responsibility for ourselves and reject this blather? It’s less than mediocre. It’s ‘party machine’ behaviour.
But some really get off on that living dead sort of thing? THE BORG.
This is just more of the same old same old hackneyed aggressive behaviour of ‘masculine’ distraction from the main game.
It is dead easy and lazy to diss things.
Shouldn’t we be interested in hearing about what candidates have to offer creatively in a way that speaks clearly and honestly to us?
Seems to be out of fashion? Just bring in the wrecking ball.
Real leadership will present possibilities and solid plans towards creative solutions.
But that’s not exciting enough to some bruisers.
While the current Federal Treasurer makes a good go of explaining ‘economics’ simply I have never and will never understand the complexities of what has become a dead set religion (certainly in the West). Economics is boring and dry and yet increasingly for so many it is the gospel according to wellbeing in our lives. BLATHER, BLATHER, BLATHER.
What I do understand about economics is that you can’t take out more than you are prepared to put in otherwise it all catches up with you in the long run.
Our present world situation is a prime example. GREEDY, GREEDY, GREEDY.
While having respect for economics as being part of the solution it is not the panacea.
What it is trying to do is make God material or if you like our Saviour.
Oh for God’s sake the G & S words. Run for cover.
It's been repeated in these blogs before… "happiness is not an attribute of matter".
One way or the other there needs to be a balance between the material and the spirit…or Nature if you are less offended by that descriptive.
And we wonder why the wheels are falling off the cart.
Humanity has become disconnected from our deeper selves.
We’re now too caught up in our own head spinning busyness as being our Master.
And while we’re on the subject of God.
Why do political parties put their leaders on metaphorical pedestals Godlike?
God they ain’t. At best they are competent managers. There is too much focus on the Leaders.
Let’s hear more from those who share the management responsibility for the Country or aspire to. That's a whole lot of people including YOO.
Unless political parties start speaking in a language we all understand (not only economic speak) and present a cogently understood plan that balances economics and humane civility we should put people into leadership positions who do. That is providing they can work together with others and not just become processed and packaged heartless products of the ‘diss’ machine.
The party machine needs an overhaul.
The alternative is redundancy. - Neville ☺︎
PS I am not talking about having more religion in politics. Religions are just fine having their own job to do. I am talking about understanding ourselves better without being propped up by economics or its synonym materialism.
People doing what I do are labelled “influencers” on the Internet. I’d prefer to see that what I’m at least trying to do is hold up a mirror to our world and explain the way it is and encourage the emergence of the way it could be. I’m an explainer.
I do this for my own better understanding.
