Dear Editor,THOSE LAZY HAZY CRAZY DAYS OF SUMMERThe big lesson that we are learning at the moment is that we not only have to write our own better future but we also have to participate in it. What a shock for so many. (“Fear: the rational emotion of our time” Herald Opinion 30 March)This responsibility is a shared one between us all no matter whether politicians or the populous.It may come as a surprise for too many that Politicians (or any leaders) can only help. The decent ones can’t do it alone. And the others only contribute to the mess by their own ambitiously driven egos. A public with the same selfish motivations does likewise.If we want to bring back those lazy hazy crazy days of Summer then we have to do it together.As much as we’ll do anything not to look into our own mirror the unavoidable times are upon us.Regards, Neville Williams
