"YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE"
(... IF YOU KNOW YOURSELF)
What a strangely weird world it is becoming presently.
I was invited out just before my birthday for dinner by a "friend".
It ended up being a most forgettable birthday experience.
People are going weird. Even friends.
I could recall the details of this disappointing evening
but it is not edifying.
We're starting to lose the plot people.
Some are being confused by their own manufactured fear,
anger, uncertainty and fractiousness.
It is sad how fear can totally freeze a person into being something
other than the person you used to know.
My "friend" is so locked in their disconnection
that they will have their own peculiar view
of the experience here completely separate from mine.
And when a person is sooo very set in their world view
nothing but nothing is going to be rescued, nuanced nor evolved
by any attempt at intervention. Better to... "walk on".
One of the best bits of advice I've ever received
and embrace in my life when necessary is...
"You can be there and do what you can do
but when people start to pull you down with them
push them away and get the hell outta there."
They are very wise words and prescient for our times.
When self awareness flies out the window
you are fighting a lost cause.
And this is happening far more regularly across our world.
People are going round and round on their own created carousel of life becoming very dizzy/confused but refuse point blank to let go of their own pride, arrogance or ignorances.
Humans are starting to have their fantasy bubbles of expectation burst abruptly exposing starkly their set in cement neuroses about many aspects of their existence/life.
And it is not pretty.
If you know yourself then you are on solid ground
and "you'll never walk alone".
You are your own best friend.
This is the art of loving yourself (nothing to do with ego).
If you don't know yourself blaming the world around you
for what you don't understand makes for becoming
a very lonely, isolating and empty place to find yourself.
And that is exactly what we all need to do - find ourselves.
Best to be nowhere near the melt down when it occurs. - Neville Williams
ADDENDUM
So what are friends for? To share the company of truth.
Sharing fantasies is no longer for me. It's time to walk on in a new direction. N.
"...When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark...
...Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone..."
Lyrics from "You'll Never Walk Alone"
Song by Rodgers & Hammerstein (pictured)
from their stage musical "CAROUSEL"(1945)
