RESCUED & RESCUER
Recently it was totally mesmerising to watch a YouTube video where an experienced horologist (jeweller) repaired a high end watch that had been burnt to a crisp.
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. Restoring a $10,000 Rolex Sea dweller watch destroyed in the Pallisades Fires in Los Angeles.
The watch was a gift from the film music maestro Hans Zimmer to a friend.
It was treasured by the owner.
It was difficult to see how anything that was damaged by 1000+ degree heat could be salvaged but step by step this fine craftsman patiently remade the watch.
The care and attention to detail that this artist put into his practice was a privilege to behold.
It was hypnotic, even meditative and entertaining listening and viewing step by step how something that was completely decimated was brought back to life with such care.
The movement was completely unsalvageable and was replaced. Fascinating to observe and listen to someone who knew and loved what they were doing take apart the workings piece by piece cleaning, greasing, oiling and reassembling the minuscule parts of the substituted movement.
The original casing, metal band and the rehabilitated replacing movement were handed back to the owner complete in a pristine condition. The fire heritage story of the item was integrated attractively into the evolved piece. Totally thorough.
Not dissimilarly from YouTube again the example can also be drawn here of animals discarded and left to die by their "owners". The damage inflicted on these poor defenceless sentient souls says so much more about the lost humans who were charged with their care in the first place. And too it is also heartlifting to see those professionals in action who can bring these fragile broken souls back to life.
When so much of our world happenings and processes can become so mediocre it is truly a pleasure to see maestros at work taking masterclasses.
I’m sure the same can apply to a person's life that might be considered lost being brought back to life by someone qualified. But the person doing the masterwork would need to know what they are doing.
And the person facing rehabilitation must actually want the rehabilitation.
You've got to go to the right Doctor.

"Everybody's talking' at me
I don't hear a word they're sayin'
Only the echoes of my mind
People stoppin', starin'
I can't see their faces
Only the shadows of their eyes..."
"Everybody's Talkin'" is a song written by Fred Neil in 1966 and later sung by
Harry Nilsson (pictured) as the title song for the 1969 film "MIDNIGHT COWBOY".
A song of pathos to theme a Best Picture Oscar winning film weighted with sadness.
Excellent film about broken lives but BLEAK.
The original book was even bleaker with no redeeming hope at its conclusion.
