⚪️🔴🟠🟡🟢🔵🟣⚫️ NEW DIRECTION   Ed. No. 177
- MAYBE SOME RANTINGS ARE WORTH LISTENING TO!

*MORDOR & MIRKWOOD
WE DON’T NEED THEM

THE TWO TOWERS "LORD OF THE RINGS" / PIC: Wallpapercave

"BUREAUCRACY IS BULLSHIT.
   KIS - KEEP IT SIMPLE."

Do you remember Peter Finch in his Oscar winning performance in the film “NETWORK” where he plays Howard Beale a news anchor who is driven to a breakdown when he is given the sack and threatens to commit suicide on live TV. The new Head of the Network News division realises that there’s great ratings in showcasing craziness. The film is a commentary of the world we have created and some of its silliness.

The famous line from the film spoken by Finch is:-

“I’m as mad as hell
and I’m not going to take this anymore.”

There was plenty to make Peter Finch’s character as MAD AS HELL. But sadly even though his rantings were essentially truisms he’d lost his connection to something solid - his foundation. He did though realise how incredibly flawed our system of values really is. There were many who wanted to listen to what he had to say because he was responding to what they were feeling. But when Howard started to talk about some core truths they turned off. The 'herd' wanted to be entertained/distracted rather than deal with the hard truths.

It was a spot on accurate commentary on the world then and the world now. Things haven’t changed if anything it’s all gotten worse. e.g The reality TV Show "Married at First Sight". That’s love is it?
Some just shovel that tripe into themselves like manna from heaven. It's rubbishing the sanctity of human relationships.

If you want to stay lost in the dark then continue to listen to your own mind’s ravings and rantings.

I'm going to have a bit of a "Howard Beale" rant myself here today.

If you follow these commentaries you will note a subject that I return to semi regularly as being... BUREAUCRACY.  If Howard Beale’s line was  “I’m as mad… etc” then my line would be “Bureaucracy is bullshit. KIS - Keep It Simple”

What I’ve discovered is that there is a perpetual game created by our own minds that wants us to be distracted from ourselves (actually the enjoyment of our own selves) and it is so determined to distance us from enjoying the core of our being it creates unnecessary complexity/distraction.

It’s a small minded universe but it is very strongly embedded. You can’t actually see it or touch it but the game goes on inside.
The trick is to complicate things for us. A deception. And we quite willingly go along with the game of our minds until we wake up one day totally confused wondering which way is up.
I guess too, to be positive, the dark can also drive some towards the light. A bit like a grain of sand irritating an oyster can produce a pearl.

But a person can only put up with so much irritation.

Recently I’ve had four appliances go bust one of them being a washing machine.
The serviceman said “it’s stuffed” but if you purchase a company approved product as a replacement we can offer you the world.
Well he didn’t actually say that.
He said the company would reimburse his service call i.e. $165.00.

Now $A165.00 is not $5.00. It is a reasonable amount of money and particularly in these
“Cost of living crisis” times I can use this money elsewhere.

Talk about the devil being in the detail. Reading up on the process of how you go about getting a refund a person needs to do a university degree in rocket science. I truly just sat there and said to myself is the amount of time, energy and distraction from actually living worth the effort?

But the transactions in every part of our life are starting to take on this complexion of complexity. It is tedious rather than free flowing.

Should it surprise us to see more Howard Beale's exploding in our midst?

If you really want to achieve something that you feel will please yoo then I’m finding the need to introduce a kind of self discipline in my life that either rejects the sort of thing just mentioned or accepts that I'm just going to have to make three attempts at everything to get it right. i.e. employ unending patience.

I’ve been trying to get to do my first painting in a while.
But oh for f🚫⛔️k’s sake there are so many distractions. One really has to change themselves to 'get a bit mongrel' or become a super-diplomat and tell the world nicely to go to hell.

We’ve got real work to do on ourselves and we are just being so distracted from getting to it.

The world wants us to miss out on your true destiny. Grab life by the ‘short and curlies’ and run with it. Let the world go f🚫⛔️k itself. Gee I’m sounding as crazy as Howard Beale.

But while I'm on a rave don’t even start me on the twin towers of bureaucracy.
Well I'm started!
Tower 1) is governments, public administrations and oppositions of all dimensions and persuasions and Tower 2) is all aspects of information technology.
They are both TOO MUCHIE.
One group in toto is overburdened, discordant, trapped in yesterday's rut, caught in its own inertia and underperforming. The other is unrestrained, racing ahead too fast, full of its own self importance and over-performing.

The sum of their unbalanced parts is adding to our confusions. Their individuals are prisoners of their greater whole caught on a never ending treadmill of programmed rut and are in no small way contributing to a kind of larger alienation of our civil-isation.

Haven’t we already got enough places we could describe as *‘Mordor and Mirkwood’ on our Planet?
Tower 1) needs a broom through the cobwebs and perhaps the taking of a few more risks.
Tower 2) needs to rein itself in and consider a bigger picture rather than push its own narrow 'nerd' worshipping agenda. Too many of them are self serving knobs!
Steve Jobs wish you were here to pull these dicks into line with your overview wisdom.
Where has service to a common humanity gone? It's just service to themselves.
But try saying that to those 'know alls'.

My question is can we actually do anything about this or does disconnection, ignorance, complexity, complicity and confusion eventually bring down those two dark towers through their own doings? - Neville Williams

*AI can give you a good descriptive of the places of 'Mordor & Mirkwood'.

PS I just got off the phone from the Australian Taxation Office who were the most efficient and friendly people you'd ever want to meet.
This just makes an ass of my previous comments about governments. No doubt the same applies to the 'geek sphere'.
There is no black and white in life it seems. And of course that is the truth.

Keep hold of your true foundation while the 'storm of unrequited expectation' is howling.
You are the most important person to YOO. - N.

Sunshine is on the horizon.

Coming February 2027

[ IT'S ABOUT ENCOURAGING THE EMBRACING

OF A WIDER AND DEEPER UNDERSTANDING THAN WHAT WE'VE KNOWN.

We might try hopping out of our small pond and taking a look at the ocean. ]

PS I'm aware that I am sitting in the background pontificating my world view

and the realities of changing things is incredibly difficult.

I also know my size in the whole picture and it is small ... a blade of grass.

A good place to be.

Small as it may be I still have a contribution to make.

And that hopefully has something to do with seeing with clarity. - N.
