DUMB, DUMB & DUMBER

Dear Editor, DUMB, DUMB & DUMBER

It’s almost laughable. Presently in this post Covid wash up we can’t even tie our own shoelaces and yet the conservatives are talking about a nuclear Australia. (“Folly of Fission Impossible exposed by the fiscal facts” Herald letters Dec. 16)

It’s like little children playing with their own ignorance. This is all about being “big fellas”.

When we’ve demonstrated to ourselves that we contain the right maturity by understanding the value of our own humanity we might then move forward.

Until then it’s a case of dumb, dumb and dumber.

When is humanity going to decide to grow up?

Regards, Neville Williams

JUST ONE MORE

Dear Editor, WE’RE NOT LISTENING

The decline in the study of our arts and humanities (“Woe the humanities” Herald News Review December 7) would no doubt have a direct correlation to the decline in our civilisation which is currently building up a head of steam.

Your article says “humanities: it is to train students to understand themselves and the world they live in”. We’re no longer listening to patience, self reflection or focussed creativity. Too many today have been trained like performing seals simply to consume any smelly fish thrown their way.

And people wonder why fear and anger is rising in the eyes of our world community. We’re now on the receiving end of tough love brought about by our own disconnection from ourselves.

It’s always a choice. Make the right one and dig a little deeper. The arts and humanities helps us rather than hindering our development.

We just got greedy/hungry to want it all now.

Regards, - Neville ☺︎
