Where did Sunshine! go?  

At this moment you could've been receiving an invitation to a retrospective of my art over the years. Some people are aware by following these blogs that I had the intention to present this retrospective on Oxford Street, Sydney in February leading into the 2025 Sydney Mardi Gras. The Exhibition was to be titled “Sunshine!”. 

It’s not going to happen. My heart wasn’t in it.

I made a choice to shelve it for two reasons.

I don’t have enough clarity of connection to do it properly. Secondly people are much preoccupied with their own problems presently to listen to what would’ve been said.  

No point really at least not at this time.

"Sunshine!" might also have made an ideal segue into the launching of the Sydney World Expo I have been illustrating in more recent blogs here on this site. Currently we are all too occupied in holding onto or making life what we want it to be rather than giving it the space and letting it lead the way. This is creating much of our pain in this world.

I know that I haven’t met some peoples expectations of me with this decision. But I am not here to please other people. I'm no Superman. That’s something a whole lot of people in our world need to understand about themselves. If more people knew themselves and didn’t need the crutch of others like or approval our world would be a far happier place. It’s an incredibly needy world at present.

We’re passing through the results of the bad choices to differing degrees that we have all made over the years. Essentially too many have made their head their master rather than their heArt. This all needs to be clarified by reconciliation or reconnection within ourselves. That’s homework for us all. There are no exceptions.

We are responsible ultimately to ourselves.

Life runs us. It's not the other way round.

I continue though to encourage the need for a project that helps to point us forward on both an individual and global scale. But this needs to be made real by the willing contributions/participation of many to make a valid impact.
