YOO HAVE A PLACE IN THE PUZZLE OF LIFE

Artwork Title: Centrepiece from an artwork in progress titled “BENNELONG DREAMING”.

This completed puzzle will ultimately be the background of a ‘New Standard for Australia’

intended to be revealed at a coming of age celebration i.e. A SYDNEY WORLD EXPO ©️Arts Law Australia (2012)

Artist: Neville Williams

A challenging all silver JIGSAW PUZZLE seems an appropriate foundation element to use as a background to suggest a new Standard for Australia featured in an artwork in progress titled “BENNELONG DREAMING” (see below). The Artwork itself is meant to reflect our Nation’s coming of age in a Celebration through a Sydney World Expo.

A jigsaw puzzle is made up of many different pieces being put into the right place to form a complete and understandable picture. Currently we in Australia seem to have the pieces to our puzzle all over the place lost like sheep without even a drover’s dog let alone a drover to point the way. A Drover's Dog's breakfast sums it up.
You do realise that YOO are the Drover?

Interestingly this jigsaw is a silver mirror meant to reflect YOO. But if you stood in front of this mirror you wouldn’t be able to see yourself. To produce a clear picture needs the application and commitment towards a planned and agreed direction with everyone knowing their place in the puzzle. That is missing presently and so the picture remains a fog.

As I am writing the first draft of this blog I have been interrupted by two of my neighbours going at it arguing loudly about rubbish dumping in their shared space and who is responsible for it. Neither party wants to take responsibility for anything. Each blind to their own responsibility. The content of their interaction is at best adolescent.

And what I have been noticing is that we are now all party to a system that feigns concern and caring but in reality couldn't give a "rat's arse" about anything other than "its own wellbeing". As long as things appear "passable" to maintain my continued employment or create the impression that I am doing what is expected of me so that we'll continue to get that familiar "$5.50 latte" on demand... 'Cause that's what life's about. Isn't it?

There's a disconnect happening. We do what we have to do as long as it gets done but increasingly there is little quality, depth or texture to what is being done. As long as it all looks OK on the surface. Our own depth of wellbeing is now under threat by our own disconnection from our deeper selves. That has to change for our own sakes.

Our culture in the big picture is being lost. We don't even know how to smell the flowers anymore!

When we decide to become a piece of the completed puzzle we’ll be able to see our way forward to a brighter, clearer and quality future (uncluttered by our own created rubbish). We’ll then have something worthwhile to say about ourself most importantly to ourselves and also too to the rest of the World.

In other words we'll be part of a quality culture rather than the "reality TV" existence we're party to now. I mean you can put your hand through it presently it is so shallow.

Mind you much of the rest of the World also needs to clear up its act too.

Let's take the Middle East as an example. The parties there seem to have programmed themselves over a very long period of time to see an overarching negative. If all you have decided to do is ‘hate’ then you lose sight of any ability to know ‘love’.  And the more you hate the more disconnected you become from the ability to know let alone be in love. Eventually you become lost.

I am not saying that love does not exist in the Middle East. It most certainly does but far too much it is buried far too deep in individuals to enable the easy breath of life to flourish.

The journey has already begun towards our future but whether it will be a better future is up to us all. That requires each of us taking real responsibility for what we are ultimately responsible for and that is the cultivation of our own life.

We have to understand the value of that gift then the celebration of it is something real and worthwhile rather than empty and disposable like rubbish that people want to argue over.
That stinks. - Neville ☺︎
