It is worth repeating here my blog entry from 11 June 2025

LOVE YOO - THE VALUE OF US

It could all be so much better.

But looking around at the ever increasing confusion it seems to be that we’re still not ready to take on the shared effort required for vision. Would we ever be? Neither do we accept the “sugar coating” of healing medicine such as a *World Expo centred on Sydney as being worthy of time, focus and expenditure.

We live too muchie in fear and that is why we respond without hardly a blink to the calls for ridiculously increased Defence spending. We're not talking millions here we're talking billions. That's making some people very rich...at what ultimate cost to us all?

We have it all arse up.

Whatever it is we focus on reaps its own response.

Focus on fear and that’s what we’ll get. Focus on peace/creativity initiatives and so it follows. I’m not saying that we shouldn’t spend money on Defence. We need to protect ourselves from the ever present unscrupulous vagaries of this world but some balance is required.

Any threat too can be closer to home than we might think.

A real problem is that we’re becoming scared of our own shadow.

We are a strange lot us human beings?

I’ve heard it said that “about the only thing that human beings do well is to enjoy ourselves”. We’re just not giving ourselves the real opportunity of that happening presently.

It's always the time to picture and walk towards our own rainbow on the horizon.

That may sound guileless.

Perhaps though if we let go of the substantial tonnage of our cemented cerebral baggage and had more of a children's view of the world we may all well be happier!

To those who would say we have too many crises to deal with already I can only respond with a question. What is your plan to get yourself out of the hole that we are digging for ourselves? That may be an insensitive comment but sometimes directness is necessary to cut through all the noise.

The first step in solving any problem is to face up to the fact that there is a problem.

That problem is us. In more than some cases we don’t even remember how to speak or listen with clarity. Too much blather. Our pride and arrogance needs to be given walking orders.

Our disconnection from ourselves needs to be plugged back in.

Do we even know who we are anymore?

If we have to take our medicine rather than taking it cold and bitter something sweet helps the healing along. Hey, Mary Poppins knew what she was talking about with her "spoonful of sugar"

Be kind to YOO for starters.

Who’s running your Show?  - Neville ☺︎

A World Expo is only an example...

It could be perhaps an amalgamation of the best of what we are.

It might be a combination of a sporting World Cup, A mini Olympics, an Asia/Pacific version

of the Eurovision Song Contest, and a cultural expo.

Or even something else like a "World Summit on Peace & Self Discovery"

with our own young peoples led United Nations?

In essence though it should be about the discovery and celebration of the value of us.

Something that could light the child in us all.

Mmmm? What about a Concert for a New World Vision!

Run with it Sydney or some other World City with its lights turned on will take up the challenge.

Do it properly. Make it mean something worthwhile rather than being a showcase for desperately needy egos.

It is truth to reflect that you can do no service to the greater good without a full heart.

And sadly the world seems so empty. We have to sort out ourselves first.
