⚪️🔴🟠🟡🟢🔵🟣⚫️ NEW DIRECTION Ed. No. 117 - IS THERE SOMETHING BETTER THAN EGO?
Our society on a world level is now in something of a decline and it comes down to the simple reason that we are holding fast to our own individual egos. Why does it have to be the way that our own self constructed egos want it all to be? We can’t run a sane and caring world when everyone wants to be the centre of the universe.
NUMERO UNO!
That's like no glue holding anything together.
I’ve just spontaneously picked up a well read Sydney Morning Herald while having a coffee at my local. QANTAS Australia’s National Airline has successfully plane crashed its entire hard earned reputation after being found to have fired unlawfully a whole lot of its own employees* during the Covid crisis…to save money. My God Covid really punched us in the guts and then kicked us up the arse and we’re still haemorrhaging from the wounds.
QANTAS was fined $90 million dollars for that indiscretion. The Judge described QANTAS as “adamantine [unwavering to the point of arrogance] self righteous” (“ ‘Wrong kind of sorry’: Justice Lee’s words will have stung Qantas” Herald August 20) All ego.
Ego puts things like profit and personal gain and celebrity and the way things appear well before any and all of our shared humanity.
A lot of this ego posturing is presently going on making life hell on earth for many. All for the sake of serving our own or others self ego. Too many want to take the most out of any situation they can without understanding…and try to get away with it.
We’re on shaky ground as a civilisation. And you might wonder why there is so much fear and greed and anger. It all comes down to our own egos.
Nature’s not going to let us get away with it. We are being exposed as imposters and frauds. Our veneers, facades or masks are painfully being peeled back to expose the true emptiness of our laid bare insatiable appetite to fill the empty void.

So what actually is an ego?
In summary an ego is a false idea of who and what we are. A construct. It is the sum total of all the stuff that has either been projected onto us or we’ve been cajoled into believing about ourselves or how we identify for whatever reason with ourselves. This starts with the name we are given. The process proceeds right up until now. We are continuously amassing a framework of ideas, values, beliefs, protocols, information that eventually starts to cement together making us prisoners of our own self. We stop being feeling entities and start becoming overthinking machines. Horrible really. Insidious actually. Even parasitic.
Is there a choice other than the ego self?
In short yes. Our own foundation. That thing that allows us to breath in and out that allows us to move and feel all our lives. It is all we look for our whole lives in everything we think, say and do. We are in fact programmed from birth to find home. We are consistently trying to find ourselves though most are mostly unaware of this?

Why then are seemingly so few consciously finding what they are looking for?
In a word ego. You try letting go of all that baggage that we know and call ourselves and start living from the foundation of the spark of life that all living beings contain. It’s perhaps the hardest work possible (Or at least that is the way I find it. Others from my observation not so). But each of our pathways to ourself is unique. We think we’re the centre of our own existence but in truth our ego can move us away from the very thing we are looking for…ourselves.

Giving away or “surrendering” all those ideas we know as us exposes us to the very real catatonic fear inducing possibility that there is nothing else there!
But there is.
Real action for positive self change takes real courage.
It is such a conundrum yet so simple we miss it. "ET" missed it in Spielberg's classic hit movie. He pointed to the kid's head instead of his heart. The heart is where we should "phone home".
You won’t find YOO in outer space as the super rich billionaires keep trying to discover. They’re smart guys but not smart enough it seems.
People are so lost and increasingly angry because they are continuously looking for themselves in the wrong place and not finding what they are looking for. Why wouldn’t that make a person angry? We “think” the problem is someone else’s doing but all the time we are leading our own selves astray.
Too many are totally in denial of our own foundation’s guidance.
The choice is always there to put yourself on the pathway home (inside) rather than perpetually going round in circles (outside). This all requires a certain smallness totally foreign to the ego self. - Neville ☺︎
QUOTE: “What you are looking for is within inside of you”. Wise words them.
*FOOTNOTE
We can wonder too what state the relationship between QANTAS employees and employer had been like leading up to the staff being let go. There’s no doubt responsibility that needs to be shared across all stakeholders including shareholders and the public. The demands all placed on our systems may well be becoming unrealistic. We want it all but seem unwilling to pay the real price no exceptions. We’re talking about foundational change needed in our world if we want a sustainable living environment. Otherwise our disconnection from a greater nature will make the correction for us. Isn't that what's happening at the moment anyways?
