⚪️🔴🟠🟡🟢🔵🟣⚫️ NEW DIRECTION Ed. No. 126 - WHO'S WAGGING WHO?
Who is wagging who?
In recent times we have been disappointed by both Government and Private organisations in Australia. Six organisations come to mind very quickly. Putting the boot into them isn’t going to help here. All are incredibly “complex structures”. And they are only samples of a world we have created to camouflage and deflect from our own shortcomings.
May I be blunt? We’re running scared doing anything we can to avoid facing our future.
Why do we hold on so tightly to our own manufactured veneer of reality? Eventually this behaviour is self defeating. Things begin to not work properly.
Here’s a paradox.
We’ve created these complex structures so we can hide in the detail. Easy to blame anyone else other than ourselves. It really is unedifying even embarrassing to watch the exposure of all the mediocrity.
And CEO’s and political Ministers are only part of the problem. Those days when we could conveniently dismiss them as the scapegoats are going, going, gone. How many CEO’s or changes of governments/government leaders do we need to have before we realise that there are values and ideas deeply embedded within each of us that need foundational correction? The problem exists both at the top and at every other level in our world.
I wonder how long this will all go on before our civilisation crumbles like the Greeks, Egyptians and Romans before us? It could all happen quite quickly.
Our world is well into an identity crisis presently.
The collective of individuals doesn’t know who or what it is, where it is going or even what to do about getting anywhere let alone where we choose to go. NOT-A-CLUE.
And believing that someone else is going to sort out our problems for us is just inviting in the opportunistic to stamp their infectious coarser taking way of life on us.
There’s a whole lot under the surface that is just bubbling away and like a volcano can explode at any time. If we're honest with ourselves we can all feel it. I mean we’re the ones creating it. But how do we diffuse these situations?
A VISION STATEMENT : AUSTRALIA - TAKING THE LEAD
From: Neville WilliamsSubject: A VISION STATEMENT: AUSTRALIA - TAKING THE LEADDate: 24 September 2025 at 2:33:40 pm AESTTo: The Editor THE SYDNEY MORNING HERALDDear Editor,A VISION STATEMENT : AUSTRALIA - TAKING THE LEADPenny Wong’s guiding Foreign Policy mantra “We take this world as it is but we seek to shape it for the better” would be a good “Vision Statement” for Australia’s own initiated project of self healing. The world might be invited to help us celebrate our own success in this endeavour? ("Albanese’s moment of magical thinking won't change reality” Herald News 24 September)May I please suggest that it is perhaps Australia’s time for us to lead something truly creative?I mean watching the ongoing cloying attempts and seeming importance to us of Australia’s Prime Minister getting an audience with the American President is culturally cringeworthy. Who cares? What this harping does say is that we are insecure and needing our validity to be confirmed by our big brother.Aren’t we past that still???OK America is one of our “friends”. I don’t see friends for months on end sometimes years. That doesn’t mean they stop being friends. Haven’t we got our own problems to get on with solving anyway? And our friends in America certainly have their plate full in attending to their own identity crisis. They don’t need some “kid country” cluttering up their coat tails.Whether we want to face up to it or not our world is now in need of cleaning up its own backyards. That includes us here in Australia. I’m not sure that this message has sunk in around this weary world of ours.We could invite the rest of the world to our own celebration of a successful Australia under the banner inspiration of Penny Wong’s guiding statement. That is if we have something worth saying!Kind regards,Neville WilliamsCOPY TO PENNY WONG
