It seems prescient in the wake of the horror
of what happened last Sunday evening at Bondi Beach
here in Sydney, Australia
to re-present the synopsis of this artwork.

We have our heads in the sand for what is on the horizon.
In short what appears to be the case is that we have a reluctance to share
the responsibilities of a youth nation.
We want to continue to play in the sand pit of life
building our castles and laughing in the Sun.
That’s not seeing a bigger picture of reality.
Look around. The sound principles of planning for our future have been forgotten.
The focus on our humanity is being lost and as a result so will we.
You can’t “whack” a band aid on our future.
The future has a way of rearing up when you don’t expect it and biting us on the backside.
We can either put an overarching vision in place
or face the consequences of a volatile world
that doesn’t give a tinkers toss about you and your family’s wellbeing.
In short we can’t live on a sunny island in the Pacific ignoring the rest of the world.
That is the bigger picture. We need to embrace this reality.
Previous Governments have not given us vision
and so it was/is our duty to put people in charge who will plan for our future.
A warning is being made not only to governments but the corporates and also each of us as individuals.
If we don't set our own plan forward most assuredly others will.
Real leaders know what is needed to initiate vision.
You can bet that quietly they have a huge question mark above their heads
pondering whether you would help or support them in doing this.
Wanting our problems to go away and sort themselves out is not being realistic.
It all comes down to work. There’s no other way.
For a leisure programmed nation that appears to be anathema.
That is why leaders hesitate. That is why too many others hesitate.
Get used to being out of your comfort zone.
The only choice is whether yoo want to be in charge of your life direction
or whether you are going to let others drag you screaming
in their decided direction.
Joe Biden when US President talked about finding a backbone.
If you want a future that makes you happy
then you are going to have to make it happen yourself.
We need a vision taking us forward.
If we keep treading water we will drown. [2022]

BONDI BEACH - ADDENDUM
Hatred no matter who and where it comes from is anathema
to the wellbeing of any sane/balanced society.
In the immediate wake of the Bondi Beach horror we heard from both
Benjamin Netanyahu the Prime Minister of Israel
and Anthony Albanese the Prime Minister of Australia.
Mr. Netanyahu was all about heaping blame and anger on the Australian Government
and in particular our Prime Minister.
Mr. Albanese's comments were about kindness and love
towards our Australian Jewish Community and "putting our arms around our Australian Jewish Family"
at a time when they are particularly hurting.
The masculine energy has had its day in the Sun
and this form of hard headed leadership has proven to have failed miserably.
Its claimed strength has become weakness.
It takes real courage to express and embrace love particularly
in the face of so much that is negative.
I know whose motivations and rhetoric I will listen to and endeavour to follow.
Too many have become so comfortable sitting in the dark
that they are now fear filled of any light entering their lives.
That is the failing that needs to be addressed across our entire world.
Those who sit in the shadows (which sadly is too many of us) need to be encouraged to taking a step towards
looking into our own mirror and reassessing our values.
We need to learn to celebrate the gift we have been given of our lives.
And this is what the Australian Jewish Community was doing at their Chanukah (Hanukkah) celebration
last Sunday evening at Bondi Beach.
This is what our Indian Community do with their Diwali Celebration.
This is what our GLBTQIA Community do with our Mardi Gras.
Celebrate life with joy in our hearts Sydney, Australia and the World.
Continue to fill the emptiness of the dark with light.
Do though party with purpose. Be conscious of what you are celebrating. - NW
