WE NEED TO CHANGE OURSELVES
Does the ever lengthening conga line of those calling for a (Bondi) Royal Commission only add more complexity* to the problem?
Is this about being part of the herd and being seen to be concerned rather than the best way to go about solving the very real problem of ignorance in our world today?
Why waste time, energy and money on an exhaustive Royal Commission? Don’t we already know what the problem is: IGNORANCE. Whether that is antisemitic ignorance or any other form of ignorance us humans seem to have a monopoly in this creation for not understanding the importance and value of our own lives.
We don’t honour and acknowledge the value of our own selves enough. That’s where the focus of time, energy and money needs to be focussed.
Yet we seem so unwilling to face our own individual shortcomings preferring to project what we don’t understand onto others. Why is that so?
An initiated world wide project encouraging us all to mind our own business and get our own backyards in order should be on the table already.
But we find our better selves missing in all of the fury generated activity. Isn’t that the problem? We need to turn the outward outrage inwards towards reconciling ourselves. No excuses and no exceptions.
When we start to understand individually that we are our own leaders then we’ll all be part of a healing world rather than the sick planet we inhabit presently.
Forget a long winded Royal Commission. Where is the action towards understood self healing on a world scale?
Regards, Neville Williams
*The wheels of government move too slowly for the exponentially increasing drive of change in our world today. Too many of us are not finding what we are looking for and this is fuelling a swell of discontent towards those infrastructures including governments, business and community that are not delivering what we desire or expect of them. We want happiness. These structures are not designed to deliver the sort of deep and abiding peace/happiness/joy that we crave so in all these places and ways we traditionally look for satisfaction.
I once heard it said that "Big expectations equals big disappointments. Small expectations deliver small disappointments and with no expectations we sometimes receive pleasant surprises".
Our expectations are getting in our own way. N.
A pointed commentary by Wilcox here in her cartoon “Grass Roots” Herald Opinion Jan 7). Those with the loudest voices usually ultimately have the least to offer. We need to learn to listen to ourselves not the rabble who only know how to rouse!
Be wary of those who are driven by one thing and one thing alone...their own (ego) survival.
That's all about letting fear run the show. A very poor show indeed.
Seek out the lovers of life. N.
