A RETROSPECTIVE EXHIBITION OF ARTWORKS BY NEVILLE WILLIAMS

You may be aware that I am planning a retrospective art show

for an opening on 9 February 2027 in the lead up to Mardi Gras next year.

It's not a small undertaking.

And we're living in a time where there is an endemic inclement towards distraction.

Near enough though is still not good enough.

It is frustrating dealing with our "mediocre" world standards of present.

We've got ourselves addicted to an idea that 'more' and 'quicker' are going to give us

what we want. But this is only burning us out and making us more confused and angry.

We have generations now who have grown up with a half baked attitude to their life actions and that is considered by many (not all) as the norm.

It isn't good enough.

Certainly not for my Retrospective.

It needs to be the best it can be made. Why?

To set a benchmark standard. The mediocre path leads to a lifestyle that is like eating cardboard - no nourishment.

Putting on a show that connects with people in the world of the present requires a titan effort.

It needs to be done properly.

That means holistically considering a bigger picture and a more detailed application where people are involved because they want to be involved or that they actually bring something of themselves to the functioning of the Show in a way that people realistically take something away with them.

I'm talking about a genuine experience.

So much is so empty or vacuous in this AI fantasy fuelled world.

The World is running on empty presently. And we just continue to swallow that cardboard like fast food moving on to the next gluttonous opportunity without pausing for breath.

Where's the depth?

I don't want that to happen to my Retrospective.

It needs to be done right.

I have said in earlier blogs here that it can take three goes at doing something to get it right in this world today. This is now the second attempt with the proposed show. If at any stage I feel that my endeavours are not going to make the grade of excellence on most levels I won't hesitate to pull the plug on it and postpone it until a time when there are the right circumstances to make it worthwhile.

But then would that ever be?

I have learnt something by falling over a few times.

Failure is part of the process towards success in life.

There's one standard and that is excellence.

Mardi Gras people talk about "OUR JOY IS POWER".

If we want joy and better self empowerment in our lives then "LOVE YOO✺".
