ðŸ”´ðŸŸ ðŸŸ¡ðŸŸ¢ðŸ”µðŸŸ£⚫️ NEW DIRECTION  Ed. No. 202 - LOST IN THE DUST OF LUST

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE

Responsibility appears to have got lost in the dust of lust.
Above: Clipping from a recent Sydney Morning Herald article...one of many.
Hasn't society had enough of this silliness? Apparently not.

It's not a perfect world but we shouldn't stop
trying to make ourselves better.

It's a no brainer that to really communicate effectively with others we need to be calm, centred, clear and actually give people something i.e. an understanding, information or an awareness.

So I put off writing this blog to overcome the fury and anger in which I found myself after having to deal with multiple issues of people not taking responsibility for themselves.
It really is tedious. It actually distracts you with getting on with being creative in your life.

You can’t communicate with people effectively when you are full to brimming with rage. People just turn off.

We are living in a time where the ignorance factor is becoming so overwhelming that it is threatening to negate the clarity. Do we realise how onerous a pressure that individuals who are irresponsible makes on a society? An example of the manifestation of this on a larger world stage can result in war.

May I illustrate the point though through a small and relatively simple example…e-bikes.
Here we have a case study where a new technology has been introduced by charging forward and bugger the consequences. I'll bet the initiators of this street bike system knew exactly what they were up against and quite consciously decided to charge their way through the status quo. Consequently the whole introduction of this programme has not been planned properly. Is the word "properly" becoming redundant in this world that wants to get somewhere, anywhere in a hurry? This is rudeness, disregard and a lack of human respect. And the perpetrators of this not fully considered programme are now experiencing the push back!

I’ve heard multiple stories of hits and near misses on pedestrians with these bikes (not to mention the laissez fair attitude of the irresponsible to discarding them like tissues when they have finished with them using footpaths/driveways or wherever it suits as the dumping ground). Currently I'm dealing with the distraction of a person who regards it as a right to park one of these e-bikes across my opposite neighbour’s driveway. Usually you don't see the culprit. They sneak in like a rat and quietly park the bike/s (It's become a habit) and are gone before anyone can catch them red handed.

The other day though I was in my kitchen at one end of my home and I happened to have my front door open when he (yes a “bloke”*) arrived on an e-bike. Honestly he moved so quickly across the narrow lane way and scurried into the side lane that he had disappeared before I reached the front door.

You get tired of “politely” letting people know they are being irresponsible dick wads.
Do we realise how much energy is required on a community’s part to reconcile other peoples ignorance?

I did give the bike company an ear full about educating their users in bike etiquette. I also spoke with what I believe to be a Half Way House Co-ordinator visiting the offender’s possible address. He said he would pass the message on. Later he came back to me to say that it wasn’t anyone from the suspected address. Or is it that in this halfway house the perpetrator isn’t going to fess up in front of his peers? (You know lying is becoming more pronounced in our Trump legitimising, post Covid fragmented, technology pummelled, FOMO ridden, cost of living catatonic riven world. The courage needs to be found in us all in these confused times to face ourselves!)

You see this rat knows that there are 4 possible addresses off my side lane that he can hide behind so it is more difficult to locate him. Irresponsibility in no matter what form it comes is devious.

But why should other people have to wear the result of individuals not taking responsibility for themselves?

We need a nation wide educational programme titled “YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE” across our whole society....because we all are responsible...or should be. This suggested programme is an example of what I have recently described in these blogs previously as a 'peace building project'. Is it so surprising that we now need to be socially educated? Has Capitalism gnawed away persistently at our humanity and civility over time? Is civility all just now a hollow contrived facade?

Irresponsibility is just about people being greedy and lazy with their thoughtless perceived freedoms as being their rights. (You can bet that in large part that is why Americans are at each other's throats. Their failing leader is an accurate reflection of their collective imagined entitlements. They put him there! Or did we all?)

The current mess initiated by five Sydney Swans football players over alleged mistreatment of two women in a Melbourne Hotel room is another high profile example of what I’ve just been talking about. These blokes now and forever have an understanding of how much hurt irresponsibility can cause.

We learn one way or the other. It’s just that the other way is so incredibly painful.

What we are seeing are more lambs thrown on the sacrificial altar of a society not willing or aware to understanding that we all need to know ourselves better. Sorry to burst people’s purity bubble but we’re all guilty of irresponsibility to a lesser or larger extent at sometime or other. Irresponsibility is good at hiding itself until it gets exposed and then there is all hell to pay. And that just about says it right.

When we live in the shadow rather than our own light this sort of thing unfortunately happens.

Irresponsibility is a complete drain on our civil-isation.
And we might wonder why there is a world societal slide towards the cliff?
If the whole country behaved like the examples given here Australia would be ripe for invasion. These are expressions of not being able to manage ourselves.  - Neville Williams

*Why does it appear that masculine energy seems to be having the greatest trouble dealing with these times we are experiencing?
Interestingly the suggested social education programme “YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE” is one of the themes intending to be addressed
in my proposed art retrospective titled "Sunshine!" now on hold.  - N.
