YOUR WELLBEING IS PRIORITY NO. 1
AT THIS TIME (OR ANY OTHER TIME)

Along with the aches and pains of getting older one of the more concerning ailments I had been experiencing over the past two years is recurring blurred vision.

I couldn't begin to tell you of the many visits to GP's, specialists - optometrists, opthalmologists and an endicrinologist. Then there were the MRI, CT scans and ultrasound tests I've had about this problem. At one point I was even diagnosed incorrectly as having a tumor on the upper side of my pituitary gland that was pressing on my optic nerve.

Wrong, wrong wrong.
This world doesn't know what it is doing presently.

After all this my advice is to listen to your own body and find yourself a good Doctor. I have generally had good experiences with the health profession in the past but in more recent times (post Covid) I'm finding that something isn't quite right in this particular orbit. (Is it unnecessary bureaucracy, overwork or perhaps professional jealousies?) I can't quite put my finger on it but the "wellness" of the health system is wavering across the spectrum.
There is a lack of 'connection'.  Something is not right in healthdom.

And I say listen to your own body because eventually I diagnosed what the problem was with my vision and it may surprise you. As far back as 2015 two separate nurses on two separate visits to St. Vincent's Hospital said quite bluntly to me that I was not breathing correctly.

I had gotten into the bad habit of shallow breathing in and out of my mouth induced I believe by these stressful times. What that was doing was reducing the oxygen flow to my brain over a long period of time. It has only been in the last two months that I have consciously been practising taking deep breaths in through my nose and out through my mouth. My vision has majorly improved. Still not 100%.

The simplest of solutions.

The point I'm making is that we can get into a tangle going off on all sorts of tangents when the solutions to many of our problems may be in the simplest of actions.

Are you getting the oxygen to your brain to clear the fog and so find the right solutions?
Your wellbeing is priority No. 1 at this time (or any other time).

As an aside the subject of Governments getting priorities right (Daily Telegraph Nov. 16, 2024) has been in the news lately. Housing (or lack thereof) seems to be the NSW Government's priority.

The real priority though is clearing the fog out of our brains. The "monkey" of our confused minds needs to be put in its box. And that's not really any Government responsibility.
It is our own care. Be kind to yoo- Neville ☺︎

⬇️ MEDIA LETTER THE JIG IS UP
ORIGINAL LETTER

From: NEVILLE WILLIAMS <bigbennelong@optusnet.com.au>
Date: 20 November 2024 at 09:03:36 AEDT
To: The Editor THE SYDNEY MORNING HERALD <letters@smh.com.au>
Subject: THE JIG IS UP

Dear Editor,

THE JIG IS UP

Another day and yet another claim for more. (‘Train brouhaha’ Herald 20 November)

Do we ever stop and take the time to stand back from this circus of grasping for more of everything to ask ourselves some relevant questions?

Like how much can we take out of our system before it starts to nose dive into decline?

If you are listening to your gut you should be starting to feel that we have reached a tipping point.

What Transport staff and in fact we all are doing is asking for far too much from our world.
Our demands are no longer sustainable.

That sense of entitlement that has grown out of all proportion in Western civilisation is approaching that time where we either let go of our demands or start running for cover.

Nature won’t wear our petty egos.
We’ve certainly been warned enough.

Regards, Neville Williams
