⚪️🔴🟠🟡🟢🔵🟣⚫️ NEW DIRECTION Ed. No. 84 - OUTTA SPACE ON THE INSIDE
Perhaps this is a good theme song for the excessively rich
and aggressively competitive amongst us.
Song by Count Basie and Frank Sinatra.
COME DOWN TO EARTH
WE NEED A
'PEACE AND DISCOVERY WORLD PROJECT TAX'
INTRODUCED ON AN
'ACROSS THE WORLD' BASIS
This week arrived with news articles talking about how both Jeff Bezos (Amazon) and (what's his name?) the Tesla man have their outer space programmes in flight. I'll admit to not taking in all the nitty gritty here amongst all of the dross that is being shovelled around in this over-information revolution. But I'm only human and not a processing machine.
Apparently the superheroes of the Technological Age are sending pilot missions into space with the ultimate goal of establishing human colonies for when we humans have stuffed the planet and can go and stuff some other planet. It is also noted that they both are also setting up their own versions of internet service satellite networks as an alternative/progression to what we already have in place. Is this needed/necessary or just their driving ambitions at play to be numero uno? Not content in junking the Planet we've moved onto making outer space into a rubbish dump too.
We do so make such a mess in looking for the light on the hill!
No doubt this is all costing squillions of dollars that could be giving some disadvantaged kids from the wrong side of the tracks a step up with a proper education and so a chance at a valued life.
Capitalism in its excess is a smelly corpse. It just hasn't realised yet that it has become a spaced out lifestyle for the walking dead.
I mean there's vision and then there's flights of fancy fantasy.
Such an infatuation with outer space. I'd reckon that Alphas like Bezos and Tesla-Man would see outer space as the final frontier where there are new discoveries to be made.
They'd both be wrong.
Our own inner space is the final frontier. What is that old saying about finding what you're looking for in the last place you look?
It is really rich that we ignore so much addressing our own shortcomings and foibles as human beings and that we would have the shocking audacity to go off planning for the day when we've made a mess of our own home...planet earth.
I mean if people think we've reached the end of the road as far as what we can learn about ourselves then we are not looking or trying very hard.
Here's an idea that needs to be given voice by the grass roots across the planet.
There should be legislation made mandatory on a world basis that if governments,
entrepreneurs and corporations want to indulge their fantasies about outer space (and while we're at it more particularly fears with ridiculously proposed increasing Defence spending) then a "Peace & Discovery World Project Tax" needs to be introduced. This would match dollar for dollar any defence and outer space expenditures proposed towards consciously planned world societal peace maintaining projects.
Time to get our priorities right.
Humanity needs to take itself in hand.
Humans are meant to be the "Crown of the Creation".
Why then are we behaving in such an "off the Planet Janet" sort of way disconnecting from our own selves across the globe?
Knowing ourselves better is nowhere near the table let alone on the agenda for our attention. And so the disconnection continues.
We humans need to change our own mindset.
There are too many heads floating amongst the stars full of an increasing level of spaced out junk that we are ultimately projecting back onto ourselves.
It really does look like we are majorly creating our own pain?
Hasn't the time arrived when our priority needs to be keeping our feet firmly on the ground and getting our own backyards and houses in order?
Perhaps it's time for a big picture approach?
A balancing Vision forward please. - Neville ☺︎
