A BOUQUET FOR YOO

Recently I was looking to enter the "City of Sydney's Art Hoardings Project".
I feel I have a good simple idea that is relevant.

The idea is to crop sections of a vibrantly colourful flowers artwork I have done (adjacent) and transpose these elements into great sweeps of colour that would with digital enlargement fill the hoardings of construction sites in Sydney City.
My feeling is that people are too much preoccupied with their own busyness. Sharing the message theme to "take time to smell the flowers" seems appropriate by presenting a bouquet as a reminder if you like. But I'm starting to wonder if our world is worth the effort needed?

Can you pick out the subliminal skull?
Quite unintentional but apt perhaps.

You know what I found?
The more I have tried to complete the process of applying for this project the angrier I am getting. And the further I am getting away from taking my time to smell my own flowers.
Is that hypocritical or what?

I should be enjoying the process but I am not.

And it is more than the City Council's application process. (Though with ABN numbers, public liability insurance, terms & agreements, licensing matters, media appearances, technical/IT requirements it all drains away at life.)

It just seems that the world we have all created unwittingly sets out to put every obstacle in a person’s way. This world is far too demanding.
I'm an artist not a form filler, administrator, a salesman, a media presenter or a tech head.

Most annoyingly for some reason my computer has decided not to allow me to turn an Apple "Pages" file into a "PDF"? It really is aptly named the Technological Revolution.
Revolutions are painful things.

Does anything in this technological/profit driven world actually work considerately, consistently, reliably and smoothly?
All too hard to understand. All too complicated.

All that aside perhaps this bouquet is simply
meant for YOO the reader?
Take time to smell the flowers lovely people.
LOVE YOO. That's all that really matters ultimately.

It's time to smell the flowers but we are so stuck in our own head spinning busyness.

This Project is a reminder that it takes a lot to get anything creative up and running.

Our world is all getting a bit tiring.
In the West it seems that Capitalism has drained our souls and left us empty of self knowing. Lately the focus on Iran reveals that the juncture between Western Asia and Middle East isn’t doing any better?

I need a NEW DIRECTION myself. We're going stale here.
Listen to your life.
The sooner I migrate to NZ the better.
As Pippin expressed I've got to find my "corner of the sky"
and anchor in my own safe harbour.

This hoarding project might be a pleasant way to say thank you and goodbye to Sydney & Australia? You can only have a go!

What I have learned from this Project so far is that you've just got to get on with it
and just do it.  - Neville ☺︎

FOLLOW ON:
Not surprising that my submission was not successful particularly after what I have opined above.

Being an artist means sometimes having to say things that our world just doesn't want to hear.
We want the creative but want it presented in a benign impotent sort of way. Too much fear.

And we wonder why our world is like chewing on cardboard?

I don't regret or withdraw anything I have said here. Our Western Civilisation is on track to go the same way as the Greeks, Romans & Egyptians before us. Complicated, loveless, soulless, self seeking... lifeless. Everyone out to protect their own small minded territories. That's the very thing that is killing us off. The decline of our way of life is well under way. Currently I don't see that it is all salvageable.

I wonder what the brave new world will look like? - NW 18/8/25.
