This proposal was an idea to evolve "THE WALL" at Green Park Darlinghurst
into a National AIDS Memorial with a great phoenix rising out of a still reflection pond of water.
That Wall has quite the history. And knowing the history of that Wall
perhaps the phoenix should be knocking through part of the wall itself
in a gesture towards a freedom of spirited expression?
We've got to start digging again for values that treasure the importance of our humanity...
... and not the walls we've put in our own way.
(By the way you can bet there would be those who would place the "heritage" value
of the Wall over the message of breaking through the barrier.
The values are arse up. In fact bat-shit crazy like our world is becoming.
How much more complicated can we make our lives?)
"They built their wall and judgements cruelty
drained their souls and left them empty of self knowing
All that's left is their mark up on the stone
A memory in a mirror..."

WE PUT THE WALLS IN OUR OWN WAYWhat we are seeing presently in our political behaviours is the true dysfunction, separation and ignorance that exists in the wider community. Our leaders reflect us not the other way round. This continued unacceptable political behaviour says we as a larger society are not ready to change ourselves.
We are the very toxic stew from which the Bondi horror manifest. We’ve got to face up to the fact that we have lost our way as a race. This is a most uncomfortable reality that enough of us need to accept before we can do anything to actually heal the disharmony.Hate of any kind is destructive. That reality has to be acknowledged. But we can’t even get past that stumbling block.I don’t envy any leader worth their salt in this present climate. They can’t help move us forward (in any chosen direction) because we are not ready to do so.
And sadly probably never will be for some.Too many are disconnected from understanding the simple value of life itself.Unless we are educated to address and heal our own pain internally then the status quo of ignorance will continue. When we’ve had enough of it then we’ll be ready to listen to our deeper selves rather than projecting the blame game on our larger world.
We put the walls in our own way. When we begin to acknowledge that truth we might start to get somewhere.
